In 1819, John Smith snr (1799-1874) provided land from his garden for the construction of Coven Methodist Chapel. According to the Coven Village Web site, a number of people signed the conveyance document. These included: John Smith , Thomas Wade, Thomas Smith , Joseph Wade, John Badger , Samuel Parke, Joseph Holland, Richard Tyrer, John Tyrer , John Holland, William Bayliss, John Southan, Samuel Radnall, Richard Hickman, William Hacket , William Bird (Supt. Minister). Now, the question is, are John Smith and Thomas Smith related?
